About Me

Based on the island. 20+ years. No marketing fluff.

Why I built this site

Every guide to Lanzarote I read online felt written by someone who'd been on holiday for a week. Hotels I'd never heard of listed as "best on the island." Beaches recommended for swimming that any local would tell you to stay away from in winter. Restaurants reviewed in 2019 and never updated.

I built All About Lanzarote because I wanted a guide that reflected what it's actually like to live here โ€” and what it's actually like to visit, honestly. Not the brochure version.

Every hotel, restaurant, beach, and route in these guides has been visited personally. I don't list places I haven't been to. If something on this site is bad or has changed, I update it โ€” and the date is always at the bottom of the page.

How I work

I'm not a full-time travel writer. This is a side project I work on between photography jobs, and the site grows when it grows.

No paid placements

No hotel, restaurant, or experience listed on this site has paid to be here. Recommendations are based on personal visits and local knowledge, not on commission rates.

Affiliates, but transparent

Some links on this site are affiliate links (mainly Booking.com for hotels, DiscoverCars for rental cars, GetYourGuide for tours). If you book through them, I may earn a small commission โ€” at no extra cost to you. I only link to services I'd recommend anyway. Affiliate revenue funds the time I spend maintaining and updating the guides.

Honest, even when it's not flattering

If a popular restaurant has gone downhill, I'll say so. If a "hidden gem" beach is actually a car park with a view, I'll tell you. The point is to save you time and bad surprises, not to promote Lanzarote at any cost.

What the site covers

The site has three sections, depending on where you are in your Lanzarote journey:

Contact

Found something outdated? Discovered a place I should add? Want to say the guides helped you plan a great trip? You can reach me through the contact form โ€” I read every message, even if it takes me a few days to reply.
